The connected era is here and people all over the world are taking action to address the threats posed by global climate change. Businesses see the value of this, not only for the bottom line, but because their customers, employees and stakeholders are making it clear they care. This is a global movement gathering momentum every day. The iron is hot. Never before in our history has there been a time in which corporations and customers can promote a ‘greener’ Earth by working together, sharing ideas, facilitating dialogue and bringing about meaningful change.

“Together ” is about change. “Together is about making a difference. “Together” is about inspiring each other and strengthening our partnership for the betterment of the world we all share.

Dell and ReGeneration.org are proud to join with The Climate Group in launching a campaign based on ideas and actions. When we launched “Plant a Tree for Me” in 2007, our goal was to make it easier for our customers to make a difference. As a result, approximately 100,000 trees have been planted in sustainably managed forests, and they’ll sequester 225 million pounds of CO2 from our atmosphere. At Dell, we’re also providing power-management tools and calculators to help customers determine how they can reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions through green IT. If one company can make this kind of difference, imagine what a whole range of businesses and individuals will do by coming together for a common purpose.

The idea is simple, but by no means revolutionary: Partnerships matter. Our responsibility is to listen to our customers, our employees and others to share tangible ways to improve the environment. The more we listen, the greater impact we have.
