We’ve gone global! On Thursday 5th June we launched Together in the US. That’s right. We’re inviting millions of Americans to take up our message that it’s easy to fight climate change if we do it together.
Just like you, people in the US are ready to take action. They just need help with doing the right things. With Thursday’s launch, Together US is now there to help them.
World leaders UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger joined some of the US’ big household name brands, respected charities and most influential US cities to help launch the US campaign. Our launch event in New York City’s Time Square showed just what kind of impact Together can make: we converted the middle of New York’s hectic congested epicentre into a green and tranquil place!
Together US partners will be working together to bring people across the nation easy ways to fight climate change. These include:
...and many more, including big brands, charities and 7 very big US cities.
“Protecting our environment is a job that belongs to each one of us. It means more than companies changing their practices or governments changing their policies. It means each person finding ways to change the little things in our lives that will in turn have a huge positive impact on the world around us. Together will help make this possible,” said Governor Schwarzenegger. “By making it easier and more affordable for Americans to fight climate change, we are taking a giant step towards a brighter and cleaner future. I extend my best wishes for every success in saying ‘Hasta la Vista’ to climate change.”
The Global Togetheriser – coming soon to our site – will help you track the campaign’s success. Here we’ll add up the CO2 savings of our extended US community along with our own actions here in the UK.
Then you can really see what a huge difference we make globally when we act together.
